The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a forested mountainous area covering more than a half million acres in North Carolina and Tennessee. These ancient mountains are home to a wide variety of plant and animal life unsurpassed in the National Park Service. My family frequently visited this national park as a child, and I return as often as possible. I love the green, lush quality of the area.
