 | Throo the Zoo - Louisville, KY For more details and to view photos of the event, click the link on the left. The Throo the Zoo run takes place annually in the spring. It starts and ends at the Louisville Zoo. The race is a 5K run (3.1 miles) and contains only one significant hill, as you run by the cheetah exhibit. The sights and sounds of the Louisville Zoo make this race particularly enjoyable. Before the race even starts, peacock calls echo from the Zoo. The route begins outside the zoo, but ends by making a loop right through the middle of it.
