Reid and I have traveled to Wyoming twice (once in 1992, once in
1997). On both occasions, it was such a fantastic vacation I would be content never going anywhere else. In 1997, Patti and
Jeane joined us and introduced us to backpacking.
Some of my favorite memories include:
Spotting bison, coyotes, foxes, elk, bears, moose, a
badger, bighorn sheep, and a porcupine,
Watching pelicans and osprey catch fish,
Rubber donuts on my birthday,
Making it up (and down) Avalanche Peak (despite my fear of
heights),
Reaching camp each night on the backpacking trip,
Patti flying a kite in the Big Horns,
Hiking in shorts and discovering snow on the trail,
Everything about the Grand Tetons,
The lakes in the Big Horns,
Taking a shower after backpacking for five days,
Eating at Pizza Hut after backpacking for five days.
